Email Marketing / Email Design

Email Design

Templates and newsletters that render properly everywhere and are built for the click, not the screenshot.

Email is the least forgiving design medium there is. Outlook renders differently from Gmail, images are blocked by default in many clients, dark mode inverts what you carefully specified, and more than half your audience is reading on a phone. A design that looks beautiful in Figma and breaks in Outlook is not a design, it is a mockup.

We design and hand-code email templates that hold up across clients and devices, built on your brand, with modular sections your team can rearrange without touching code or breaking the layout.

What We Design

Email design service features

Brand-accurate templates, hand-coded and tested across the clients your audience actually uses.

01

Custom Template Design

Master templates designed from your brand identity - campaign, newsletter, transactional and automated flow layouts that look like one family.

02

Modular Section Library

A library of reusable blocks - hero, product grid, article, testimonial, CTA - that your team can reorder in the platform's editor without breaking anything.

03

Responsive & Dark Mode

Mobile-first layouts that reflow properly on small screens, with dark mode handled deliberately rather than left to whatever the client decides to invert.

04

Cross-Client Testing

Rendering tested across Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Yahoo and mobile clients before anything ships, because Outlook will always find the weakness.

05

Conversion-Focused Layout

Clear hierarchy, one primary action per email, tappable button sizes, and content that still makes sense when images are blocked.

06

Accessibility & Best Practice

Semantic structure, real text rather than text-in-images, sensible contrast and alt text - which helps both accessibility and deliverability.

Why The Brand Bee

Designed for inboxes, not for portfolios

The test of an email template is not how it looks in a case study. It is whether it renders correctly in Outlook on a work laptop and converts on a phone on a train.

  • Hand-coded templates tested across real clients, not exported from a drag-and-drop builder and hoped for.
  • Modular blocks so your team builds new campaigns quickly without design or development time.
  • Dark mode and image-blocked states designed deliberately rather than discovered after send.
  • Layouts built around a single clear action, which is what actually lifts click rates.
  • Designed by a team that also runs the campaigns, so the templates suit how you really work.
Our email design approach
Our Approach

How we build an email system

One coherent system rather than a series of one-off designs - so every send looks like your brand and nobody rebuilds a layout from scratch again.

1

Audit what you send today, how it renders, how it performs and where your team gets stuck.

2

Define the template set your programme needs - campaign, newsletter, transactional, flow.

3

Design the master templates and the modular block library from your brand system.

4

Hand-code the templates, including dark mode and image-blocked fallbacks.

5

Test across Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Yahoo and mobile, then fix what breaks.

6

Load into your platform, document the blocks and train your team to build with them.

FAQs

Email design, answered

For simple sends it is genuinely fine, and we will say so. Custom templates earn their cost when brand consistency matters, when you send often enough that speed compounds, or when builder output is rendering badly in Outlook - which it frequently does.
Yes, that is the point. We work from your brand system and, where it does not yet extend to email, we define how it should - type scale, colour use in dark mode, button styling and image treatment - and document it.
Carefully, and with tested techniques rather than hope. Outlook on Windows uses the Word rendering engine, which ignores much of modern CSS. We build with table-based structure, use conditional code where needed, and test every template in Outlook specifically before delivery.
Yes. We build modular blocks that load into your platform's editor, so your team can reorder sections, swap images and change copy without touching code. We document what each block does and train the team on it.
We can. Our copy team writes campaigns and flows, and design and copy developed together generally perform better than a template filled in afterwards. We are equally happy to design around copy your team writes.
