Case Study · Naming & Brand Creation · D2C Fashion · Performance
Naming, brand strategy, identity, photography and the D2C store for a women's handbag label - plus the social and performance engine that now runs Rs 25 lakh of media a month.
Miraggio is a women's handbag and accessories label founded by Mohit Jain. We were brought in at the very start, before the brand had a name. What existed was a sharp product vision and a clear view of who he was making for. Everything that turns that into a brand was ours to build.
The brief, in the founder's words, started with breaking the stereotypes that surround women and fashion. A bag is a style extension of a personality. Turning that into a business meant solving three problems that arrived together.
Fashion bags in India is a long shelf of near-identical options at every price point. A shopper has countless choices and very little reason to prefer one brand.
Demand was rising for bags that look premium without costing like it. True, and also exactly where every value brand claims to sit.
The founder was not building for an age band or a city tier. He was building for a way of thinking, so the usual targeting shortcut was not available.
Preference was not going to come from the specification sheet. The brand itself had to be the difference, which put unusual weight on a single decision.
Everything on this page follows from one choice made before a single bag was photographed or a rupee was spent on media.
A look at the work The Brand Bee has produced for Miraggio.
One wordmark, built to sit on a pastel shoulder bag and an animal-print tote without looking like two different companies.
Italian for mirage. Set clean and wide, with no ornament and no illustrative device, so the mood always comes from the product and never from the logo.
It reduces to a stamped leather tag and scales up to a storefront without being redrawn, which is what a range this varied needs from its wordmark.
A D2C storefront organised by occasion rather than by product type.
Entry points built around moments rather than categories. Every channel converts through this store, so it carries the brand and the checkout at the same time.

A name, a positioning and a tagline written in 2019, now carrying a demand engine seven years later.
The long-term vision written into the strategy in 2019 was to become one of the top 10 fashion handbag brands in India. That was written before the brand had launched a single product. What matters now is not the media number on its own, but that the media number is being earned on the original positioning - the name has not been softened, the tagline has not been replaced, and the voice has not been broadened to chase a wider audience.
Or one that has a name and needs everything after it. Don't BEE shy - get in touch.
